BROCK: The scenic Beaverton Harbour is set to become even more captivating with the unveiling and dedication of the stunning Wishing Tower sculpture on June 21st, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.
Residents and visitors alike are invited to join in celebrating this remarkable addition to the waterfront landscape. Designed by internationally renowned and local artist, Ron Baird, the Wishing Tower stands as a symbol of hope, unity, and community aspirations. The polished stainless steel highlights the sculpture's intricate kinetic structure inviting contemplation and reflection surrounded by the beauty of the harbour setting.
The dedication ceremony promises to be a wondrous occasion. Local Councillor Claire Doble will M.C. the evening program and the official transfer of the sculpture from Beaverton Special Events to Brock Township. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the inspiration behind the Wishing Tower and its significance to the Beaverton harbour and history and meet the artist himself, Ron Baird.
"We are thrilled to formally receive the Wishing Tower, a testament to the creativity and spirit of Beaverton," remarked Councillor Doble. "This sculpture will serve as a symbol of optimism for generations to come, inspiring dreams and fostering connections within our community."
Following the dedication ceremony, attendees are invited to participate in activities to contribute their own wishes and dreams to the Wishing Tower.
