UXBRIDGE: The Township of Uxbridge is entering 2025 with optimism about the potential progress they will make this year.

At their first council meeting of the year on Monday, January 13th, Mayor Dave Barton and Deputy Mayor Todd Snooks both made statements on what they feel this year will bring.

“I’m excited for what we will accomplish this year. When you think of the big goals we have, whether it’s hospital, long term care, downtown, animal shelter, I think we’re going to start making some more visible headway this year. So [it’s] exciting times,” Mayor Barton said.

Councillor Snooks echoed that optimism in his own opening remarks.

“It’s a new year with a lot of exciting movement on many projects in Uxbridge, and I believe 2025 will be a year of positive steps forward.”

He added residents will be able to see “some visible and tangible results” this year.

“Where we are now has only been made possible because of an extremely incredible past few years of foundational work. Not only this council and our outstanding staff, but more importantly because of the amazing committees and local residents stepping up and providing leadership, input and expertise and with the dedication of business owners, land and commercial owners during this foundational work,” Councillor Snooks concluded.
