UXBRIDGE: Uxbridge council members were amazed to see the amount of work that the Township accomplished in 2024.
At a meeting on Monday, January 27th, councillors saw a report from CAO Kristi Honey detailing the accomplishments of every department in the Township. The report was labelled “A Year in Review.”
Some of the accomplishments included “Implement[ing] a Foster Program for dogs requiring behavioural training,” putting in place a new parking permit system, supporting the Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park project, presenting long-term service awards to staff members, conducting facility audits of the Town Hall and Uxbridge Arena, having a “successful” Mayor’s golf tournament, and adopting a three-year tourism plan, among many others.
“Unbelievable. I think it’s 16 pages of accomplishments. Also interesting just to see how much the teams have done. Everything from weddings to roads, to social media, to just communication in general. It’s been a busy year,” Mayor Dave Barton said.
Ward 3 Councillor Zed Pickering marvelled at the diversity of accomplishments.
“You have many different types of initiatives [which] have taken place, and none of which could have been done without the incredible staff. They work tirelessly, they wear many hats, and so just a quick piece of appreciation.”
