KAWARTHA LAKES: A Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) school has been named one of Ontario’s top Terry Fox Run fundraisers.
At a meeting, on Tuesday, May 28th, trustees received a letter from the Terry Fox Foundation which stated, I.E. Weldon Secondary School was on the list of the 50 top fundraisers in Ontario, for 2023.
“We are proud of I.E Weldon Secondary School’s extraordinary effort and commitment to carry on Terry’s legacy, and are honoured to share with you, they ranked 19th in the Secondary Division. The dedication of your schools has made groundbreaking initiatives like our Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network possible,” the letter stated.
The letter thanked the board and the schools for the “unwavering support,” and “excitedly look forward to working with” the board for “years to come.”
“That’s really outstanding. They’re so committed to it, and it needs to be mentioned, so congratulations to I.E. Weldon,” Director of Education, Wes Hahn said, at the meeting.
