SCUGOG: Local photographer, Robin Van Der Vleuten will host her first gallery showing, 'Through the Eye of the Beholder,' at the Kent Farndale Gallery.

As a retired elementary school teacher, Robin used pictures to enhance her student's creative writing skills. Now, she uses photography to tell a story through her lens, focusing on nature.

"Growing up in Northern Labrador, I fell in love with all aspects of nature. I developed an appreciation for its beauty and a respect for its temperament. The unique qualities of nature, from the smallest insect to the power of the roaring ocean, have been a recurring theme in my work. It is a subject which allows me to tell a story and feel connected to my roots."

Visit the Kent Farndale Gallery, from February 8th to March 6th, to view her work. On March 1st, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Robin will be available to speak with you during her Meet and Greet event.
