The Monday Morning Singers, of Uxbridge, have been singing together for almost 25 years. They will mark their 24th/25th season with their Christmas Concert, on November 29th, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Anglican Church, in Uxbridge.
The Christmas performance is dedicated to Kenneth Walsh, to honour his generosity to the choir. Maggie Anderson, who grew up in the Uxbridge artistic community, was mentored by Ken. She will recite excerpts from A Child’s Christmas in Wales, as Ken did for many years, and she will also sing the solo parts in Vincent Lubeck’s Christmas Cantata.
The highlight of the concert will be a special gift, to the choir and the community - the world premiere of “Long Long Ago,” a piece commissioned by the Choir from internationally recognized composer Sarah Quartel.
The choir will also be delighted to welcome early music performers Alison Melville and Tatsuki Shimoda, familiar faces, from the Toronto Early Music Consort and Tafelmusic Orchestra.
