Ready! Set! Paint! On November 2nd, there will be a display on the front lawn of the Seagrave United Church, 15 Coryell Street. This display will be to honour the brave men and women Veterans who fought for our freedom. You are invited to find a stone in your travels, paint it with a poppy, veteran’s name, or a saying, and place it at the base of the display for Remembrance Day, November 11th. If you have photo’s of a family member, or friend, that was, or is a Veteran, you can submit it to gspastoralcharge@gmail.com or text to 905-718-8086 for the November 8th service for coffee time. Include the person’s name, regiment, rank, in which war they served, if possible. Sunday, November 8th, Seagrave Church will be supporting Operation Scugog Christmas campaign. They will be collecting cash donations and/or gift cards to local businesses. This will replace the ‘adopting’ of a family”, that they traditionally participate in. Pack a box or bag of non-perishable food items in your trunk and come to the Church parking lot. Stay in your car, open your trunk if you can from inside your vehicle, and volunteers will come and remove your donations. All COVID precautions will be adhered to. Time 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Barb and Brad Sinclair are delighted to announce the birth of their new grandson, Myles. Proud parents are Dan and Laura Sinclair, and Myles is a baby brother for sister Hannah. The scripture reading was Matthew 22:34-46, entitled “The Greatest Commandment”. Commandment one, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Commandment two, Love your neighbour as yourself. It sounds simple, but we are still struggling after 2,000 years. Life without Love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit. Also, this is the night to turn back your clocks. This is “Fat Bear Week” in Alaska. Bear 747, has been crowned as the winner for 2020 of the beefy brown bear contest, weighing in at over 1,400 lbs.
