Scugog to hold next meeting at SCRC

SCUGOG: In anticipation of big crowds, the Township of Scugog is moving their next Planning and Community Affairs meeting to the Scugog Community Recreation Centre.

The change was announced at a meeting on Monday, September 9th. The Minister’s Zoning Order (MZO) request by Avenu Properties Corporation for a Port Perry development is expected to be included on the agenda. The proposed development is located on lands east of Simcoe Street and south of Castle Harbour Drive.

Through the provincial Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, an MZO can be issued to override certain planning procedures in order to move a development closer in the process.

The Scugog Community Recreation Centre is located at 1655 Reach Street in Port Perry. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.

“Please adhere to the meeting etiquette for delegates and visitors, which includes signs and placards will not be permitted in the facility. A high level of decorum is expected of delegates in attendance. Be specific and brief, comments are limited to five minutes. For visitors, please refrain from applause or other expressions of emotion,” acting clerk Ashley Macdougall said.
