Scugog Fire Chief praises a successful long weekend boot drive

SCUGOG: The Scugog and Caesarea Firefighter associations recently held a successful boot drive over the Victoria Day long weekend.

The drive was held in Port Perry from Friday, May 19th until Sunday, May 21st, and raised $12,693 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Scugog Fire Chief Mark Berney announced the results and praised the community at a council meeting on Monday, May 29th.

“We are blessed to have a very generous community, [who are] willing to open their wallets for a worthy cause,” Chief Berney said.

He described this year’s drive as “an unbelievable event and a true example of the generosity of this community.”
