SCUGOG: The Township of Scugog is changing the timeline for the allowance of installation and removal of seasonal patios.
In 2019, the council passed a bylaw which stated, “Seasonal Patios must be installed no earlier than one week before the Victoria Day holiday and must be removed no later than one week after [the] Thanksgiving Day holiday.”
However, at a meeting on Monday, May 30th, Ward 3 Councillor Robert Rock made a motion to amend those timelines to have installation occur “no earlier than May 1st” and the removal be “no later than November 1st.”
“I think it’s important to maximize the days we have available to the restaurants, to be able to sit outside,” Councillor Rock explained.
