SCUGOG ISLAND: The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations held its 26th Powwow on Saturday, July 20th, and Sunday, July 21st on Scugog Island, just east of Port Perry. Crowds respectfully gathered to witness traditional ceremonies and dances and to learn about the Indigenous culture. The Powwow showcased drums, dances, and regalia of Indigenous Peoples. Food and products indicative of their culture were available for purchase by many vendors. Visitors had the opportunity to participate in some dances.
