OPP investigating fatal crash on Highway 7

KAWARTHA LAKES: The Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a recent fatal collision on Highway 7.

According to the OPP, the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 16th, at about 3:30 p.m., and involved two vehicles.

“Police, along with fire and EMS, were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision, involving two SUVs, on Highway 7, near RoundTree Road. Unfortunately, the driver from one SUV, a 57-year-old male from Lindsay, was pronounced deceased in hospital. The other driver was treated for minor injuries,” an OPP press release stated.

The name of the deceased victim has not been released. The OPP closed Highway 7 and RoundTree Road for a period of time, for the investigation, and so far the “cause of the collision remains under investigation.”
