SCUGOG: The holiday spirit kicks off this week, in Port Perry, as Operation Scugog began its 2024 Christmas campaign, on Tuesday, November 5th. This annual initiative aims to support clients in need, by providing them with gifts and holiday food boxes.
Starting this week, Operation Scugog will distribute gift cards to clients, allowing them the freedom to purchase their own gifts or food items. This approach empowers recipients to choose what they truly want or need, this festive season.
The organization invites the community to contribute to this heartwarming cause. Donations can be made at the food bank, located at 593 Alma Street, adjacent to Victory Church, on Tuesday afternoons, from noon to 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted on November 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.
Additionally, community members can leave donations at local grocery stores, including Vos' Independent, Foodland, and Food Basics.
Operation Scugog welcomes a variety of items to help stock their shelves, including: juice, canned pasta, canned ham, stew, pork and beans, pudding cups, honey, syrup, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, and laundry soap. Holiday treats, such as chocolates, crackers, and cookies are also in high demand.
Your generosity will help spread joy and ensure everyone in our community can enjoy the holidays this season.
