Excuses, excuses…. I’ve heard them all, over the course of 21 Years.

Here are consistent qualities I notice in people who don’t make consistent long term health changes:

Lack of Self Discipline

Let’s face it, it’s always easier to go the same route you’ve been going. Change is hard and requires a lot of self discipline, and some people seem to quit before they even start.

Lack of Accountability

It’s not up to anyone else to make the decision for you. People sometimes blame their circumstances for their lack of personal growth. It’s easy to pass the buck and blame everyone else for your bad choices. Hey guess what? What you do or don’t do is on you my friend.

Unreasonable Expectations

You can’t expect to change a life time of bad habits in a few months. The time and dedication it took you to get out of shape is the time and dedication it’ll take to get in to good shape.

Lack of Time Management

How much time do you dedicate to your bad habits? If your goal means that much to you, you’ll make it happen. That's pretty straightforward.

Lack of Self Confidence

One of my favourite quotes is from Henry Ford, “If you believe you can or you can’t, either way you are right.” This means, if you believe in yourself, you can do so much more. If you believe you can’t do it, certainly, you won’t.

Complaining

Excuses are so easy. Change is hard. If you choose to complain about your circumstances, then you choose the consequences.

Long term success means taking accountability for your choices. You must actively take steps towards better health. With consistent effort, you can find the path to better health.
