DAN CEARNS, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter, for The Standard

SCUGOG: The Port Perry MoJacks have been eliminated from playoff contention, losing their first-round playoff series four games to none. The MoJacks entered the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, on Tuesday, March 15th, facing the possibility of being swept by the Clarington Eagles. Halfway through the first period, the Eagles scored the game’s first goal, and Port Perry trailed 1-0. Over a minute and a half into the second period, the Eagles added to Port Perry’s deficit with a goal. But the MoJacks finally got on the board in the third period. Nearly three minutes in, Justin Jacobs scored his third goal of the series. Less than three minutes later, Nick Chokrev-Cerpnjak capitalized on a MoJack power play, scoring the game tying goal. However, the Eagles would score three times in the period, and Port Perry lost the game 5-2, ending the MoJacks’ season.
