The Port Perry Lumberjacks were mauled by the Schomberg Cougars during their only game of this week, on Thursday, January 9th.

Despite the Lumberjacks outshooting the Cougars 15 to 9 in the first period, neither team was able to score until the second period.

It took until over the 12-minute mark of the second period for the first goal to be scored, with the Cougars getting that one past goaltender Daniel Giusti. Then, with just over a minute and a half remaining in the period, the Cougars struck again, making it a 2-0 game.

Over two minutes into the third period, after Cameron Marshall took a hooking penalty, the Cougars scored a power play goal, extending the deficit to 3-0. Then, right at the halfway mark of the period, the Cougars scored a shorthanded goal to make it 4-0. Kyle Bailey scored a power play goal less than 16 and a half minutes in, but the Cougars would strike twice more and won the game 6-1.

One Timers:

- The Lumberjacks have one game on the upcoming schedule. They host the Cougars for a rematch at Scugog Arena on Sunday, January 19th. That game will begin at 2:25 p.m.
