DAN CEARNS The Standard

The Port Perry Lumberjacks fell to the Clarington Eagles in their lone game of the weekend on Sunday, November 10th.

Before the puck was dropped, the Lumberjacks held their Remembrance Day service and honoured local veteran Stan LeFort.

While no goals were scored in the first period, the Eagles controlled the majority of possession and outshot the Lumberjacks 15 to 8.

Nearly seven minutes into the second period, Zach Caron scored the first goal of the game, giving the Lumberjacks the 1-0 lead. But, 10 and a half minutes in, the Eagles put the puck past goaltender Daniel Giusti, tying the game 1-1. About a minute and a half later, the Eagles would strike again, putting Port Perry behind 2-1.

Nine and a half minutes into the third period, the Eagles capitalized on a power play, extending the deficit to 3-1. The Eagles would score one more goal shortly after, and the Lumberjacks lost 4-1. With this loss, the Lumberjacks have now lost four consecutive games.

One Timers: - There is a Battle of North Durham on the docket this weekend. The Lumberjacks will face the Uxbridge Bruins in Uxbridge on Friday, November 15th at 7:45 p.m.

- The Lumberjacks' next home game at Scugog Arena is this Sunday, November 17th, against the Schomberg Cougars. That game will begin at 2:25 p.m.
