Little Britain hosts the first ever Agriculture Network of Kawartha Lakes Summit!

Writer: The StandardThe Standard

Please join us for a gathering of board members of the local farm organizations and representatives from agri-businesses within Kawartha Lakes on Thursday, April 3rd, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This meeting, hosted at the Little Britain Community Centre, is a great opportunity to network between agricultural organizations and businesses and share what you are working on. What are your challenges and ideas for strengthening your organization and the agricultural sector and learning from each other? Whether you're a seasoned board member or just starting out, everyone is welcome! Let's come together in a way we haven't done for years. This annual networking day aims to improve awareness communication between our agricultural organizations in Kawartha Lakes, and to step up as leaders to think collaboratively about ways to improve the sector as a whole.

Each organization will have the chance to share what it has done recently and what is upcoming. What are your challenges as a board, and what are the challenges your members are facing? How can our agriculture sector be improved?

We will hear about the recent agricultural impact study, review recent activities to grow the sector, and discuss tips and tricks for helping your agricultural board go from surviving to thriving.

Ideas and information shared may lead to group actions and can feed into an updated Kawartha Lakes Agriculture and Food Action Plan. At the very least, you'll get to know the other agricultural boards and the fine volunteers like yourself who are working on behalf of your fellow farmers to improve it.

Please Register your attendance by Friday, March 28th. A free lunch and arrival refreshments are included. To register, go online to https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/agriculture-network-of-kawartha-lakes-summit-tickets-1284863032919?aff=oddtdtcreator.
