Lindsay residents encouraged to explore their musicality

GRAEME MORRISON Morrison Music

KAWARTHA LAKES: Have you always wanted to try a musical instrument but aren't sure where to start? Come to our Try-an-Instrument Day on Saturday, August 17th, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Lindsay Lounge. The Lounge is located at 68 McLaughlin Road, Unit 5, in Lindsay.

Try a variety of instruments in an encouraging, no-pressure environment!

Whether you're looking to get your child into music, are considering playing guitar as a hobby in retirement, or anything in between, our all-ages event provides an interactive, hands-on opportunity to explore all music has to offer.

Anybody who wants to try an instrument can attend. Whether you're a family looking for a fun activity for your kids, an adult curious about how they can start playing music, or anybody else, this event is for you.

Our drop-in event will feature stations with various instruments, including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, keyboard, and various percussion instruments for you to try.

Our team will be on-site to help teach you familiar melodies and share more about local music opportunities and lessons.

Anyone in attendance can enter our draw to win great prizes, including musical instruments, lesson packages, and more.

This is a Pay-what-you-can event. We suggest a $5 entry fee per person, but we don't want the cost to be a barrier to anyone's experience of all that music offers.

We'll also be giving out free DIY Build-Your-Own-Instrument kits to those who RSVP. To register go to our website https://morrisonmusic.ca and click on the Events tab.
