Lindsay driver charged after collision in Emily Township

KAWARTHA LAKES: A 35-year-old Lindsay man is facing multiple charges after a single vehicle collision in Emily Township on Saturday, December 28th.

According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Constable Jake Daynes, “At 8:06 p.m., officers were dispatched after a motor vehicle had lost control on Pigeon Lake Road. Officers along with Kawartha Lakes Paramedics attended the scene and located the driver who had sustained minor injuries.”

Robert Gallo of Lindsay is facing charges of Failure or Refusal to comply with a demand, Failure to comply with a prohibition order, Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Driving a motor vehicle which is not equipped with an ignition interlock device, having a Class G1 Licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver, Careless driving and Driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.

Mr. Gallo was later released from custody and will appear in court later this year. He was also given a 90-day licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

“We would like to thank the members of our community that provided helpful information to ensure our roadways are safe,” Constable Daynes stated.
