SCUGOG: The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2), Reach Street (Regional Road 8), and road closures on Coulter Street and Reach Street, in the Township of Scugog. Daily lane restrictions from July 8th to November, 2019. Coulter Street will be closed for two weeks in August and Reach Street will be closed for one weekend in September. This schedule is subject to change, and unfavourable weather may influence the work schedule. Lane restrictions will affect Simcoe Street, from Beech Street to Riverview Drive and Reach Street, from Bigelow Street to Simcoe Street. Road closures will affect Coulter Street, from Simcoe Street to 100 metres east of Simcoe Street and Reach Street, at Simcoe Street. The municipalities reason for doing this work is to remove asphalt, replace storm sewer, water main, curb, sidewalk, hot mix paving, traffic signals, and new pavement markings. The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
