KAWARTHA LAKES: The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR) expects to receive a large supply of Moderna vaccines soon.
“What this means is that in the next two to three weeks, we’re going to have expanded opportunities to access vaccination appointments,” HKPR medical officer of health Dr. Natalie Bocking, told reporters on Wednesday, June 16th.
Dr. Bocking also stated the local health unit is consistently receiving about 9,300 doses of Pfizer vaccine per week, “If these [extra] shipments of Moderna do arrive, and they arrive into the province and down to HKPR, the next two to three weeks are going to see the most vaccines we’ve had in the region to date. Which I think is quite exciting.”
“We continue to have excellent uptake at all of the mass immunization clinics we host. For example, we posted four clinics yesterday, and as of today, they are all full. So there certainly continues to be high demand for vaccinations in the region, which is excellent,” Dr. Bocking added.
