BROCK: Residents across Brock Township will soon enjoy enhanced recreational spaces, as several park projects are underway.
Wayne Ward, the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Facilities, provided updates on significant improvements to: King Street Park, in Beaverton; MacLeod Park, in Cannington; and Fairgate Park, in Sunderland.
Work has officially begun at King Street Park, in Beaverton, where upgrades include the installation of a new pickleball court and walking track. Preparations for construction have required the removal of tennis court nets and swing seats, and fencing erected around the worksite. While the park will remain closed, during the estimated three-week project timeline, some areas will stay fenced off longer for hydro seeding. Limited parking and increased truck traffic are expected, until the work is completed. The project is slated for completion in early December.
Construction on a shaded playground, near the Cannington Lawn Bowling Club, at MacLeod Park, in Cannington was recently completed. Upgrades at Fairgate Park are already bringing joy to residents. A newly installed swing is now available for use, marking the completion of this enhancement project.
“These upgrades are part of our ongoing commitment to improving recreational facilities for residents of all ages,” said Mr. Ward. “We thank everyone for their patience and understanding, as we work to create spaces [which] will serve the community for years to come.”
