March 1st came in like a lion with blowing snow conditions the entire morning on Medd Road. Luckily it calmed down in the afternoon and then we experienced again another -20 degree overnight. Such is the swing in temperature we have been dealt.
On Friday evening the Ontario County Holstein Club held a dinner honouring the awards received by the 4-H youth who excelled at the Royal Winter Fair and accolades to farmers on cow excellence followed by a silent action and a rousing live auction. It is a fun evening and a delicious meal catered by Mary's Country Kitchen.
Saturday was March 1st and the meteorological start of Spring helping us at least feel a little warmer. Don't forget to move your clock hands ahead one hour. Saturday evening, March 8th.
Lent begins this week, following Ash Tuesday. We are on our way to Palm Sunday, Good Friday's Canadian Foodgrains Bank project potluck breakfast at Epsom United Church, and Easter services.
I hope all celebrations planned to honour all March birthday or anniversary gatherings bring many memories to reflect on as the days turn into years ahead.
Come and worship at Epsom United Church on Sunday, March 9th, at 10:30 a.m., with fellowship to follow.
