Epsom & Utica news

by Faye Ashton

Monday morning, and the sun is shining!

It’s been a hot, sultry and dreary week with rain daily. Wednesday evening’s burst of wind and rain caused damage in the surrounding area. The farmer’s stress level has been pretty high trying to get a crop of hay in decent condition from the field.

Our deepest sympathy to Al and Monica Crawford, who are mourning the passing of their Grandson, William, following a tragic bike accident this past week. This community sends our love and prayers to you and all the family, so saddened by this accident. The Crawfords live in the former Sutcliffe family farm.

The real summer solstice has passed on June 20th and the full moon (strawberry) on the 22nd, but with the dull weather, it seemed to pass unnoticed.

Church at Epsom United is this Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Edith Ann presiding, followed by fellowship.

Mark your calendars for July 1st, a day to celebrate the incredible land we call home and the many blessings we share in this peaceful country. Let's come together to wish Canada a happy Birthday.
