Epsom & Utica news

By Faye Ashton

We have almost spent the month of May and what are our memories? The older we get, time travels at an exceptional speed. I wish I knew why because I want time to mosey along and not race by.

Epsom neighbours and friends of Chris Rhul send sympathy to Chris' family and siblings on his recent passing. Chris is the son of the late Chris and Joanna Jager Rhul, who chose Epsom for their home for many years, and all their children attended Epsom Public School.

Hope you are looking forward to "A Spring Fling Brunch" held in the lower room at Epsom United Church on Saturday, June 1st at 10 a.m. A time for neighbours near and far to enjoy visiting with food to nourish. A bake table will be available as well. A goodwill offering will be received.

Did you know? The meteorologists are identifying June 1st as the initial beginning of Summer.

Join us in a special event to honour our community's history. The Utica Cemetery decoration is planned for Sunday, June 2nd at 2:30 p.m. This is your invitation to come and pay tribute to those who have gone before us. The Hillman-Kendall decoration service will be Sunday, June 9th at 2 p.m. at Utica United Church.

Save the date for a special 'celebration of life' event in honour of Tom and Joan Anderson. This event, planned for June 8th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cresswell Presbyterian Church, Cresswell, Ontario, will begin with a bagpiper to honour their heritage. We invite you to share your memories and stories of Tom and Joan. Please send your news to Faye.eaglesnest@gmail.com.
