Drug charges laid by OPP following Lindsay investigation

KAWARTHA LAKES: Two Lindsay residents are facing drug possession charges, following an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation.

“On the 23rd of July, 2024, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Warrant was executed, at a residence in the Town of Lindsay, by members of OPP Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Central Region Emergency Response Team, Central Region K9 and members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Community Street Crime Unit,” an OPP press release explained.

What was recovered by police at the site included: $8470 of Canadian Currency, 94 grams of Fentanyl, over 21 grams of Cocaine, 38 Benzodiazepines and evidence a pair of people were involved in trafficking.

Ronald Fitzgerald is facing charges of Possession of Property over $5,000, Possession with the Purpose of trafficking Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Clonazepam and Failing to comply with a probation order.

Kaylynn Beacock is facing charges of Possession with the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl and Clonazepam.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
