DURHAM: The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is constructing a new roundabout on Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23), at the Regional Road 12/Pefferlaw Road intersection.
Work begins this week and should be completed by mid-November. There will be daily lane restrictions. Unfavourable weather may influence the work schedule.
Lake Ridge Road will be closed south of Regional Road 12 for approximately six weeks beginning July 26th. Following this, Lake Ridge Road will be closed north of Regional Road 12 for approximately six weeks. Detours will be posted. During these closures, the intersection will operate as a three-way stop.
The work will be at Lake Ridge Road and Regional Road 12/Pefferlaw Road, in the Township of Brock and Township of Georgina. The intersection is being reconstructed into a single-lane roundabout.
The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work quickly and efficiently. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
