The Blackstock Curling Club held its annual Potluck Dinner and Awards Night on Friday, April 4th. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the delicious dinner. Winners of the second schedule were: 1st Team Kadowaki (Doug Kadowaki, Ron Bradburn, Scott Martin, Sheila Davidson), 2nd Team Kadowaki (Karen Kadowaki, Brigid Fisher, Meredith Woodland, Steve Borovskis), and 3rd Team Bailey (Steve Bailey, Drew Bailey, Zeke Bailey, Mary Finer). Special thanks to the executive for a great season of curling. There will be a chance to sign up for curling in the fall, so keep it in mind!
The Blackstock-Nestleton United Church Choir held a fun Murder-Mystery Dinner at the Church on Saturday, April 5th. From all reports, it was a great evening of entertainment. Lots of local talent was displayed at the show!
I think everyone now has power after the ice storm of last week. Some homes were without power for a few hours while others were a few days. It certainly makes one realize how dependent our lives are on electricity.
Upcoming coffee social time at the Blackstock-Nestleton United Church will be Wednesday, April 23rd at 10 a.m. Come join us for treats and conversation.
Don and Louise Swain recently returned from a trip to Aruba and Janet Van Camp is back from South Africa. All enjoyed their holidays. Canada is indeed the best country in the world in which to reside.
Participants in Blackstock Minor Hockey enjoyed a final celebration of their year at the Arena on Saturday. All teams were recognized and some individual players were awarded medals for Most Dedicated, Most Sportsmanlike and Most Improved. Congrats to all for a fun season!
