SCUGOG: Peterborough Police have arrested a 40 year-old man in connection with a threat made towards Port Perry High School.
After allegedly sending threatening emails to the school on Monday, November 9th, Joshua Kimble of Peterborough is being charged with public mischief and conveying a false message.
A Peterborough Police Service press release explained. “Between November 9th and November 10th, 2020 the accused was sending bomb threats through emails to various libraries, schools and hotels across Ontario and in Vancouver.”
According to Durham Regional police (DRPS), the threats caused the school to evacuate staff members while officers checked out the area.
“The school was deemed safe and there was no evidence located of any threat. Nearby schools were placed into Hold and Secures and traffic in the area was affected,” read a DRPS press release.
