The half an inch of rain we had on Saturday here, has already brought a tinge of green to brown grassy areas. Some of the other surrounding areas received more rain than that.
Many lovely flowers adorned grave sites at the Annual Service of Remembrance, held last Sunday at the Bethel Cemetery. The outdoor service, led by chairperson Brian Lee, included two lovely solos, “Rainbow” and “The Rose”, provided by Erika Phillips. The message for the service, with speaker Doug Ferris, was entitled “The Family Reunion”. Valerie Hunter provided keyboard musical accompaniment for the service, which was well attended on that sunny afternoon.
The VIBE camp at the Greenbank church, held each morning this week, provides stories, crafts, and games related to the theme, “God Loves the World”. 27 children have registered for the camp. Along with the children, let us all be good stewards of our planet earth.
Monday, August 26th – There will be a meeting at 7:30 p.m. to discuss this year’s barbeque successes, and suggestions for next years event. We hope that all those who worked at the barbeque will attend. If you are unable to attend, please contact Kim or Dianne with input.
Stephanie is resuming office hours at the Greenbank Church on Thursdays, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., starting on August 29th. August means birthdays for Kim Thomson on August 16th, Jim Thomson on August 12th, and grandson Miller Witruk, who will be three on August 21st. Happy birthday to you all !
