UXBRIDGE: The Ministry of Labour, assisted by Durham police, began an investigation at the local ski resort on Tuesday, January 14th after 40 year-old snow grooming machine operator Wade Hartin died.
“Sadly, the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development was notified this morning of a workplace fatality at Ski Dagmar Resort, in the town of Uxbridge. They reported a snow grooming machine operator was fatally injured. Our thoughts are with the family and colleagues of the worker who passed away,” read a statement from the ministry, at the time the investigation was launched.
A GoFundMe page has since been launched to support the victim’s wife Emily and her unborn child.
“Wade Hartin wanted to be a daddy – and he would have been the best. If any of you have had him around your children, you would instantly see the love in his eyes. Instead, he will never get to hold his sweet little miracle baby. Wade would do anything for anyone, including giving his shirt off his back,” read the fundraiser’s page.
