DAN CEARNS, for The Standard

SCUGOG: A new vehicle repair and restoration shop has recently popped up along North Port Road in Port Perry.
Certified Gearheads opened a few weeks ago, at 99 North Port Road. The business is run by co-owners Dustin Lake and Mike Bierworth.
“We felt like it was a good area to start a business, and that we could fill a void in the area,” Mr. Lake explained.
Certified Gearheads can do such things as mechanical work, brake and suspension work, auto glass replacement, engine diagnostics, metal replacement and body restoration, replacement and balancing of tires, and air conditioning recharging. Combined, Certified Gearheads offers over 30 years of experience in the industry.
Mr. Lake said the business is very versatile.
“If there’s something you need done on your car, then we can do that. We both grew up as car guys, and we’ve been gearheads all our lives.”
